Born and raised in San Diego, Tammy always liked buildings and math, so structural engineering seemed like the perfect fit. She earned her undergraduate degree at Cal Poly and moved to Seattle to earn her master’s at UW. She can often be found trying new restaurants with friends around the greater Seattle area or relaxing with her pal Charlie, eating takeout and watching reality TV shows. Before engineering, she enjoyed gymnastics, became a gymnastics coach, and she stays physically fit through weightlifting, basketball, and backpacking. She’s had the good fortune of traveling a lot … 11 countries in total, and looks forward to taking her partner Jack to Korea next year to visit family and friends.
