The Lynnwood Neighborhood Center brings multiple nonprofit organizations under one roof, consolidating the community’s access to a variety of services, including preschool childcare, physical and mental health resources, and food support at 19509 64th Ave. W.
Total project cost was about $26.6 million.
The 40,000-square-foot building has a full-sized gymnasium and a mix of rentable spaces including multipurpose rooms, space for large events, and teaching kitchens. Exterior amenities include a full playground and fenced patio. At the heart of the center is an interior courtyard/commons area inspired by European piazzas.
Celebrated traveler Rick Steves was a major supporter and donated the land for the project.
The center has a hybrid steel and timber structure, featuring panelized wood frame walls, exposed glulam beams, and cross-laminated timber. It is LEED Gold certified.
