An actual Seattle-area native, Samantha grew up in Bothell and Kenmore. She moved to Boston, where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Northeastern University and then worked with a national structural engineering firm for nine years. She, her fiancé, and their dog, Pepper, recently moved back to the area to be closer to family. Why structural engineering? Sam’s parents both studied architectural engineering and worked in construction and corporate real estate, which meant buildings and architecture were always front and center during her childhood. When not working on projects with SSF’s Retrofit Team, Sam enjoys kayaking, crocheting, watching new movies, and making and baking new recipes. In addition to her adventure from Boston to Seattle, she’s traveled to Thailand, New Zealand, and Japan.
