Born in Texas and raised in Southern Oregon, Karina moved to Tacoma after she graduated from Walla Walla University. Karina’s grandfather, a professional engineer and teacher of engineering, was influential in her decision to become a structural engineer and be part of design teams to create safe structures. When not traveling or hanging out with her friends, she enjoys hiking, walking, listening to music, and binge-watching her favorite shows with her cat, Ellie.
