Historic Lincoln High School Basement Addition Shoring

Historic Lincoln High School Basement Addition Shoring

Seattle, WA

How do you design a shoring system to support an historic 4-story wall structure while excavation occurs below the wall to allow for a lower level addition? You hire McDowell, SSF and Lydig!

SSF  works in tandem with contractors to design and build specialty shoring systems. A particularly complicated structure was designed with McDowell NW and built by Lydig Construction for a basement addition to the historic Lincoln High School in Wallingford.  Soldier piles, pipe piles, compression testing, shoring/underpinning, helical tiebacks – the works!
