Located on the west side of Queen Anne, the Interbay Fire Station 20 project replaces a 55 year old building that was in poor condition and did not meet the emergency response operation requirements of the Seattle Fire Department. The new 9,400 SF station was designed to accommodate current equipment and fire fighting operations and meet current earthquake safety standards. The station serves as a model of innovative sustainable design. It followed the guidelines set for the Architecture 2030 Challenge and for LEED Platinum certification.
