2607 Second is an adaptive reuse project in Belltown. The renovation of this three-story existing heavy timber and concrete structure will house the building owner’s business and other office and retail tenants. The seismic retrofit included a buckling restrained braced frame and two reinforced concrete shearwalls as new lateral elements. The design includes a new penthouse on the roof with new roof decks on the east and west sections. The penthouse structure is supported by wood trusses and steel beams and posts.
