The Perkins Lane Home is a new 4,000 SF residence in the Magnolia neighborhood with expansive views of the Sound. The home is on a steep slope in a known landslide area. SSF designed deep-drilled auger cast piles to provide foundation support for the structure and site stabilization, and steel moment frames along the west elevation to support the floor-to-ceiling windows and multi-slide doors. Roof construction included long spans and complicated geometry to incorporate additional windows, allowing light to play off the walls and exposed structural elements.
