The Shop is the adaptive reuse of a 46,000 SF trucking warehouse for an elite social club for motor enthusiasts. In addition to new vehicle storage with lifts and on-site mechanics, the facility includes a restaurant, game room, meeting and event spaces, a garage viewing platform, and a private clubroom and cigar lounge. A steel framework was designed for a large, cantilevered viewing deck for the club members’ viewing area, supported on a single structural steel column. The frame was designed to navigate around several existing building elements.
