Sedro-Woolley, WA
The new 12,000 SF Sedro-Woolley Library for the Central Skagit Library District features an open floor plan with large windows and low shelving to allow natural lighting and ventilation through the space. The structure features exposed glulam purlins bearing on long-spanning glulam girders and large glulam columns. A subtle expression of the large glulam beam and column connections was a priority for the design team. The facility not only serves as Sedro Woolley’s library, but also as a multi-purpose community space used by early childhood learning groups, teens & tweens, STE(A)M groups, and 50+ Senior Space for lifelong learners.
