Kristin Benson Place brings supportive housing and arts space to the Uptown Neighborhood near Seattle Center. Leveraging funding from the City of Seattle’s Office of Housing and funding from our PROOF Capital Campaign, Kristin Benson Place features 91 studio apartments, 24-hour front desk security, a ground-floor arts space with partner Path With Art, and easy access to the amenities and cultural offerings of the Seattle Center.

The structure consists of wood framing over a post tensioned concrete 2nd floor and steel mezzanine. The 2nd floor incorporates an outdoor patio that required a dropped slab to accommodate landscaping and drainage. The building was constructed on an aggregate pier system designed to provide a low cost and low complexity alternative to typical deep foundation systems.
