Green Lake Carnegie Library

Green Lake Carnegie Library

Seattle, WA

SSF is proud to serve on the design team for the Green Lake Carnegie Library seismic upgrade and renovations. Built in 1909, the unreinforced masonry (URM) building is getting HVAC, fire alarm, plumbing and electrical improvements, an elevator replacement, and structural upgrades of shotcrete walls and steel moment frames to bring the building up to seismic code. All work is designed to integrate with the historic architecture common in Carnegie Library structures. The current project is targeting LEED Gold.

SSF also teamed with SHKS Architects on a previous remodel of the building.
