Located on Capitol Hill, Caroline W is an apartment complex with 44 studio units for for low-income individuals that struggle with chronic mental illness and/or homelessness. The structure consisted of a combination of deep driven and shallow spread foundations, concrete shearwalls, retaining walls and columns at the lower level; a post-tensioned concrete floor at the entry level; and five stories of wood framing with a rooftop deck. The Caroline W is sustainably focused and was designed to meet Built Smart and Evergreen Sustainable Development Standards
