Trapper Creek, AK
As part of the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, the Alaskan Mountain Treehouse boasts views of Mt Denali, the highest peak in North America. Built for extreme weather (ground snow loads over 100 pounds per square foot, and drifts over 200 psf!), the roof pitch and metal roofing were chosen to shed the snow weight. SSF has designed more than 25 treehouses. This project is built in the highest seismic zone to date. As such, a series of braced frames were required to resist potential earthquake loads.
