Ethiopian Village is a five-story affordable senior housing development and community center at 8323 Rainier Ave. S.
The project included a 90-unit apartment building and renovation of an existing 9,400-square-foot one-story community center. There is a 5,000-square-foot community space, cafe, lounge area, outdoor amenity space and 43 structured parking stalls.
Studio and one-bedroom units range from 356 to 556 square feet, with rent starting at $693 per month.
Elements of Ethiopian tradition and culture are reflected in the design, including a mural in the apartment building community space. The new building and the renovated center share a blue and bright yellow color palette.
