University Audi

University Audi is a new 8,000 square foot auto showroom with offices and service bays. The large and open building design required a structure to support that feature but also allow for movement of vehicles in / out of the showroom. The structural system is composed of steel deck over exposed open-web steel trusses supported by steel beams, columns and steel stud-bearing walls. The lateral resisting system utilizes steel-braced frames. A major design element is the curved roof. This was accomplished using radius top-chord trusses. Another unique feature of the building is the cantilevered porte-cochere.
