Mercer Island Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit

Mercer Island Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit

Mercer Island, WA

This detached accessory dwelling unit (DADU) is located on the south end of Mercer Island on steep slopes with critical area buffers and surrounding wetlands. Though the footprint is only 900 SF, it features exposed cantilevered glulam roof framing that extends from inside the house over a 550 sf deck for an outdoor living area. A deep concrete foundation system is anchored into the hillside with pin-piles to prevent movement during a seismic event. Renovation of the existing residence on this property is the next on the list!
