Impact’s first Charter School, Puget Sound Elementary, opened September 2018. After significant research across the south Puget Sound area, Impact chose the Tukwila site as the best location for the charter school’s mission: to close the opportunity gap and provide a choice for parents and an option for a high quality education for all families.

The Puget Sound Elementary project was the adaptive reuse of an existing office building. The renovation involved changes to interior partitions and the exterior fenestration to better serve student and classroom needs.  As a part of the renovation, a full seismic evaluation utilizing a 3-dimensional computer building model was also performed.

Upon opening in 2018, Puget Sound Elementary serves students in kindergarten and first grade. They will add a grade level each year until they serve grades K-5. They estimate serving 500 students when at full capacity.
