ATS Automation’s office 12,300 SF expansion project encompassed a “T” shaped 3-level office addition to their existing 4-story 1916 building. ATS provides building system automation, so the project incorporated many contemporary architectural and energy conservation strategies. The addition is constructed of cold-formed steel studs with brick veneer. Due to poor soil conditions, the addition is supported by concrete grade beams and auger-cast concrete piles. The lateral system for the addition is concentrically braced steel frames. Construction was completed in two phases.
