Seattle-based structural engineering firm Swenson Say Faget (SSF) promoted Lori DeBoer to senior project manager and Randy James to drafting manager. DeBoer was hired in 2017. Her work includes the historic renovation of FX McRory’s in Seattle and the Penrose Hotel in Walla Walla, along with the new $70 million Bellevue Christian Campus for grades 7 – 12 in Medina. James joined the SSF team in 1999 and assumed leadership of the CAD drafting team upon the retirement of Rob Galus.

The first batch of a new concrete that doesn't use cement was recently poured as part of a seismic retrofit to a 120-year-old brick building in the Green Lake neighborhood. That two-story building at 7200 Woodlawn Ave. N.E. is owned by Donald Davies and will be the future home to Atlantic Crossing Pub, which is moving from the Roosevelt neighborhood.
