Located in the University District, this new, 3-story, 122,000 square foot car display, storage and service building is our second project with University Audi. A spiraling concrete drive ramp winds around a 32-foot diameter cylindrical reinforced concrete tower encompassing the building’s elevator. While architecturally this feature provides a striking visual statement, the tower is also an integral element in the building’s earthquake force resisting system. A 3-dimensional structural analysis estimates this tower will support over half of all the lateral forces generated during an earthquake. The structural steel with concrete over metal deck system is a cost effective design that will withstand the abuse of continuous vehicle loading. Additional features such as a rooftop terrace, expansive green roof, and a cantilevered office mezzanine make this unique project an excellent addition to our ever-expanding portfolio.
