New Virginia Mason Bellevue Clinic at Wilburton Village South

New Virginia Mason Bellevue Clinic at Wilburton Village South

Bellevue, WA

In 2020, Virginia Mason moved into their new Ambulatory Surgery Center on the 4th floor of the new Wilburton Village South building in Bellevue. The center includes 32 exam rooms, an outpatient surgery center, three operating suites, and two procedure rooms. SSF provided structural engineering for the shell and core of Wilburton Village South as well as the tenant improvement for Virginia Mason.

The roof structure is structural steel with long-span post-tensioned concrete beams and slabs from floor four and below. Vibration studies were made and floor framing revised to ensure that vehicular traffic on the adjacent parking deck did not affect the sensitive mechanical equipment in the space. The MRI is supported by a spring isolated concrete floor slab to further reduce vibration. The elevated parking deck is designed to support a mobile MRI trailer.
