Magnolia Library

City of Seattle renovation and addition

Magnolia Library

Seattle, WA

Designated a City of Seattle Landmark, the Magnolia Library was built in 1964. This project included the renovation of existing space as well as a  1400-square-foot addition to house a new meeting room and a small study space. The ceiling design of the addition lends a spacious feel to the interior and has clerestory windows for plenty of natural light. Renovation work included the installation of a new roof and structural wood supports, the replacement of the aging mechanical system components, upgrades to technology services, equipment and ventilation, improvements to electrical, communication and computer connections, and the addition of energy-efficient window glass.
