Broadview Library

extensive renovation and addition to this library on Greenwood Avenue North

Broadview Library

Seattle, WA

Originally built in 1975, the 6,600-square-foot Broadview Branch Library received an extensive renovation and expansion funded by Seattle’s “Libraries for All” program. The goal of the project was to increase the civic presence of this community resource and provide an updated collection capacity, more seating, new computers, electrical service, improved lighting, more energy-efficient windows, new shelves, and more efficient circulation desk and staff areas. The addition creates a light-filled main hall with exposed steel framing and high shed style roofs. A new entrance and extensive glazing oriented towards Greenwood Avenue captures natural light and showcases the surrounding landscape.
