Sunset Gardens is a 64,000 SF, four-story, design-build project with the Renton Housing Authority, SMR Architects, and Andersen Construction. This $40 million project is the 7th affordable housing project in the Sunset neighborhood since 2012, providing apartments for veterans, persons with disabilities, and seniors. The project includes 76 studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units above the Renton Housing Authority offices on the ground floor. The structure consists of three stories of wood framing over one ground level of concrete construction and is supported on 40-foot deep auger cast concrete piles. The ground-level portion of the building is clad with brick veneer and provided with steel storefront and steel canopy structures.
