Orcas Island, WA
Located in the lush San Juan Islands, this treehouse was created as a place to unite 3 generations of family. Built between 2 towering Douglas Firs, steel beams, knee braces and TABs support the weight and allow for future growth of the tree. A double yoke system with asymmetrical struts helps balance the loading above from the offset house.
For more specifics about the construction of this treehouse, see Orcas Island Building Process Part I and Orcas Island Building Process Part II
