Swenson Say Faget, in collaboration with Hilliard’s Beer, designed and constructed the little free library to be housed at Hilliard’s Brewery and Taproom, in Ballard. Hilliard’s believes strongly in community involvement and was excited to take part in the project. The goal was to repurpose scrap materials used in Hilliard’s daily operations (damaged cans and palettes) into a book enclosure that captured the Hilliard’s aesthetic while referencing Swenson Say Faget’s design work on single family residences.

Design on a living foundation is unique. No two trees are the same. Different species, different growth rates, and various distances apart make each project vary greatly.
