SSF is the on-call structural engineer for the City of Mercer Island Parks & Recreation department. We provide structural design for bridges, retaining walls, benches, way-finding signage and other park and trail needs. The design of this pedestrian bridge included a clever 4-steel-beam configuration that made the handling and installation of the material easier for the contractor. Weathering steel was used to aid in bridge maintenance because it doesn’t require painting.
