Waking up early
Emily grew up in Houston and went to school at UT Austin. After graduation, she spent a summer in Tanzania designing and building a restroom which emphasized the basic usefulness of engineering wherever you go. When she returned from her adventure, she set her sights on Seattle and landed a job at SSF. Since joining our team, she said she’s learned a lot about lateral design…something that isn’t very necessary in Texas. Outside of engineering she plays clarinet in local community ensembles. Sometimes she opts for a guitar rather than a clarinet. Typical of most people that arrive from outside this area, she’s inspired by all the outdoor adventures here in the Pacific Northwest.
