University of Washington Hall Health

renovation and addition

University of Washington Hall Health

Seattle, WA

This project was the remodel of 27,000-square-feet on the ground, first and third floors plus a two-story, 2,600-square-foot addition to the Hall Health building. The primary goal of the remodel was to improve patient and staff flow to provide patient waiting areas. The building addition was supported on drilled concrete piers to avoid overloading adjacent basement levels of the existing building. Due to the removal of existing interior concrete structural walls, the existing building required steel braced frames to support the vertical loads.
