SPU South Operations Center

SPU South Operations Center

Seattle, WA

The Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) South Operations project is a tenant improvement and a seismic upgrade to a 38,000 SF pre-engineered metal building for occupancy by SPU’s Drainage and Waste Water (DWW) department. SSF provided the building assessment to determine improvements needed to meet life safety and ADA standards, and the structural design for improvements to meet seismic codes. HVAC, electrical improvements, site and infrastructure improvements will be made as well.  The design will meet LEED Gold sustainability goals. The updated building will have room for 145 employees, with offices, labs and support space for field crews. Some of the space may be used by emergency management and safety staff too.
