14 Hands Winery in Horse Heaven Hills

Ste. Michelle's new customer experience for 14 Hands

14 Hands Winery in Horse Heaven Hills

Prosser, WA

Nestled at the base of Horse Heaven Hills in Prosser, Ste. Michelle added a 2700 SF addition to an existing warehouse for the new 14 Hands Winery tasting room. A new gable barn structure was pressed into the existing concrete tilt-up manufacturing facility.  The corner of the existing structure was removed to create a second story mezzanine and office space that was set at a diagonal from the tasting room below.  The new gable barn was formed by a modulated series of heavy timber frames.  Each frame was constructed of glu-laminated column/beams connected at the joints by wide flange steel beams. Featuring a beautiful tasting bar, plenty of lounging space and a unique working barrel room, the building’s rustic design stayed true to the Yakima region with the use of reclaimed barn wood and recycled materials.
